Pilgrim is currently at work on a new book project, Invisible Worlds: Art, Uncertainty, and the Renaissance Globe, which examines the connections between Early Modern European painting, cartography, and global expansion.
Forthcoming publications include “Ecology and Evidence,” which offers a critical assessment of certain aspects of the recent ‘environmental turn’ in early modern art history and will appear in a special issue of Selva, and “Jacopo Bassano’s Saint Jerome in Meditation,” which will appear in wetlands books’ soon-to-be published guida ecocritica to the Gallerie dell’Accademia, Venice.
