
Pilgrim is currently at work on a new book project, Invisible Worlds: Art, Uncertainty, and the Renaissance Globe, which examines the connections between Early Modern European painting, cartography, and global expansion.
He is also writing a methodological essay, “Ecology and Evidence,” which offers a critical assessment of certain aspects of the recent ‘environmental turn’ in early modern art history. He has recently completed an entry for wetlands books’ forthcoming guida ecocritica to the Gallerie dell’Accademia, Venice.
